When Weasel the Jack Russell dog ends up in a dog’s rescue centre life seems bleak,
until he is ‘adopted’ by the local vicar and returns back to the vicarage to start a new
life.
Weasel tells his story, warts and all in this children’s book about his take on life
compared to how we as humans see things. In this the first book in the Weasel series
you are introduced to a number of different animals, mainly dogs but also a tortoise
who becomes good friends with Weasel. Just what do a Jack Russell Terrier and a
tortoise have in common?
Weasel along with the vicar visits a local care home where all kinds of pitfalls and
hidden dangers abound...along with the odd biscuit that is dropped onto the carpet
and is gratefully received by Weasel before any of the residents or care staff spot it.
A number of different adventures await as Weasel explains what it feels like for him
as a dog to visit the vets, go to the kennels, wake up at Christmas and many more.
Tragedy strikes at the most inopportune time and how he copes with it. This is just
the beginning. Weasel – It’s A Dog’s Life sets the scene for what is to come further
down the line.
Based on the author’s own dog Sophie, who was also a rescue dog and a very clever
intelligent little dog, just like Weasel. But what do dog’s and the animal world in
general really think as they watch the world go by? What do they say to each other
when their owners are not around?
What does a dog really think about you as a person when you drop him, or her off at
the kennels and won’t be back for a couple of weeks? How does that make them feel?
Weasel answers these questions and many more as he sets off on his journey.
Join Weasel as he makes his way in this first of a brand new series of books about the
life of a Jack Russell Terrier.
This book is suitable for children ages 9 -10 approximately but can also be read by all
the family.
If you have a love of dogs then this book might just be the one for you.
Geoff Charlton lives in Carlisle Cumbria and worked in both the civil service and the
NHS for many years before taking early retirement.
